On Monday we’ll be getting the wood fired pizza oven going to to celebrate midsummer. Please bring toppings but most of all an empty belly. Please share transport/walk/cycle/ride… And don’t park along lane, in passing places or on track. It would be great if you could let us know if you’re coming! Pizza served at 1pm.

Returning from the scythe festival last weekend we’ve spent this week mowing hay and getting our scythes into tip top shape. Seems to have gone a little to my head as I’ve been dreaming about flying and scything at the same time…

The great thing is that we have mowed all the grass. It’s vital to get the grass down before midsummer after which it tends to become lodged and consequently very difficult to cut.

I spent a couple of hours last night and this morning at sunrise mowing hay for our neighbour. A lovely thing to do, the morning dew spraying off the flashing blade..

As there are a few people who can’t make the scythe course in July we have now decided to put one on in August too… Click here for more info.
