I’m sitting under the walnut tree amongst the snowdrops, crocuses and daffodils, Baggins is watching bumblebees from his perch on high. It’s gloriously sunny today and it’s impossible to be miserable which could be a good reason to be miserable in itself I should think.
Nevertheless, there are umpteen million jobs to do here at Velwell Orchard so we need to make the most of the dry weather. The field has dried out nicely so it’s easy to park now, plenty of space for buses, coaches, and large commercial airliners.
There are trees to plant, beds to prepare, bonfires to burn, brambles to hack, fences to build, and fun to be had.
Hopefully I can entice you here with the promise of a few manky parsnips and some mouldy old chard?
